Narrow hole with distinct breath during winter was known to local inhabitants but for cavers Wierna were discoveried by Maria and Zbigniew Rysiecki. Between 1976 (year of discovery) and 1990 Z. Rysiecki and other cavers from Speleoklub Katowice tried to widen The entrance. In October 1990 they went over first squeeze and started to explore. Because cave was soon closed it's unique drippings were saved. Presence of interesting forms of drippings, "macaronis" and seasonal lakes make Wierna the most beautiful in Jura Krakowsko - Wielunska. Wierna is also the longest cave of Jura. In Lynx Hall (Sala Rysia) skeletop of lynx overed with drippings were found.
