The two caves are separated by only 200 meters. Exploration of CL-3 is a constant search for new possibilities in the maze of passages and pits that connect in many places and are mainly developed along cast-west axis. The vertical passages were outside of our interest because our experience told us that in this area effective exploration was done in the upper horizontal parts. During the last two years the cave was explored to the depth of 741 m and to the length of 7 km. This exploration reaffirmed our theory that exploring the cave down leads to young and not yet fully developed level with sumps where our chances for connection are very small. At the same time we searched intensively the upper parts of the Nebelsbergkar in the area where the surface karst was least damaged thus in the area of the sump at altitude of 2392 m.
After many years of trying we managed to break through the heavily fractured and choked with ice section near the surface. We quickly connected one of the caves to CL-3. Thanks to that we gained a better entrance to some parts of this cave and new exploration possibilities. The perspective of connecting the CL-3 with Lamprcchtsofcn cave system is still the main challenge.
Another big cave found during the recent expeditions is Krecia Cave. It is loeaed on the slopes of Kuchelhorn at altitude of 2376 m. Its discovery was a shock for us as this area was searched and walked over many times. The strong airflow, accompanying a caver from the start, created big hopes. The cave descended quickly by spacious pits separated by tight meanders. At the depth of 350 m we managed to access an old gallery, but it was clogged by dry mud. At the depth of 541 m the cave suddenly turned into a long and tight impassable crack. Trying to find a bypass and climbing to
