In 1998, after several years of efforts, we have again managed to get an exploration permit. The first expedition was filled with tedious rigging of the cave and surveying the already known series. At last, towards the end of the expedition, we could start exploring. Descents through successive shafts got us quickly to a chamber with several narrow clefts, too narrow to pass. The depth was 623 m. The next year another expedition tried to attack the bottom again, without success, finding a sump at the lowest place reached

earlier. So we tried our luck at higher levels. We only managed to find a new vertical series at the depth of 410 m, but 120 m lower it connected again with the main series. As the most interesting problem we have chosen a digging site in a side pocket at the depth of 480 m. It was there where we started to explore during the next expedition in 2000. After a few days of intense work we have suddenly got into a spacious gallery. Exploration frenzy ensued. The galleries followed for several hundred metres and were cut in several places by vertical series. We have descended to the depth of 697 m in one of them, to the top of another shaft.
And finally, the last expedition in April 2001 was the reward for our earlier efforts. In a few days, without serious difficulties, we have reached the depth of 1025 m. There is a muddy chamber with a narrow cleft and another widening visible behind. Some leads are left also in the earlier explored galleries. We seem to be at the stage of assembling a new vast cave system. It is especially interesting because it is formed in so unusual rocks and situated in an area until recently considered to be non-karstic. What seems interesting for the future is exploration in a cirque situated below the known entrance to Feichtnerschachthöhle, which surely hides many surprises beneath.
